Dr. Dallas Margeson has offered the Invisalign option in his south Georgia orthodontics office since 1999. Margeson offers a variety of Invisalign products to patients as an additional treatment option due to Align Technology, the pioneers in invisible braces and creators of Invisalign.
Margeson said she believes that Invisalign has been developed with many more variations since its introduction in the year 1999. They include:
* Invisalign Fullis a treatment option that is able to correct simple to complex malocclusion cases.
* Invisalign Teen – This line is for patients aged 14 and less. It has Power Ridges and compliance indicators. Invisalign Teen permits the natural eruption of permanent teeth and addresses supra-eruption. Invisalign Teen became available in the United States in July 2008.

“Invisalign has proved to be an effective option for a wide range of malocclusion cases” said the Albany, GA Invisalign provider. “This coupled with the aesthetic features many patients desire and the benefits of oral hygiene make Invisalign the ideal orthodontic option for the majority of our patients.”
How Invisalign Functions
Invisalign treatment starts with the ending in view. A 3-D computer model is made of the patient’s smile. This shows the patient’s teeth prior to and after Invisalign treatment. Margeson will make any needed changes and the information is forwarded to the Invisalign lab where the aligners are designed.

Invisalign aligners made of clear medical-grade plastic that is custom-designed to fit the individual needs of each patient. The patient usually gets between four and six sets aligners during their orthodontic exam. Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks.
Margeson explained that the sequence of aligners work in concert to gradually reposition teeth in proper alignment. The treatment typically lasts nine to 18 months.
Oral Hygiene Benefits
Maintaining your gums and teeth healthy is easy during Invisalign treatment because aligners can be removed while drinking, eating, brushing and flossing.
Margeson explained that tartar and plaque can build around brackets for patients who don’t take care of their dental hygiene. Food often gets trapped around brackets.” Flossing can take longer due to floss threaders that are required to navigate between wires and teeth to ensure proper flossing.
Removable aligners can eliminate any potential obstructions. Patients wear aligners and remove them to take a drink or eat. Patients can brush and floss as usual.
